For polishing and mirror finishing ?High speed roll grinding wheel ?
Since its establishment in 1941, SHIN-EI GRINDING WHEELS MFG. CO., LTD. has been researching and developing grinding wheels employing various types of bonds. In the past few years, emphasis has been on researching and developing resinoid bond grinding wheels for mirror finishing, using phenol resins as the basic bonds.
We have specialized in researching resinoid bond grinding wheels in the belief that it is essential to develop grinding wheels for higher levels of mirror finish, in view of the fact that high-precision finished surfaces are increasingly required. For example, “polishing methods using free abrasive grains” have traditionally been employed in cases requiring high-level mirror finish on hard and brittle materials (reinforced glass, ceramic etc.) and polishing methods for them are required.
In recent years, however, there has been a transition to “methods using fixed abrasive grains,” due to problems associated with traditional methods, i.e., poor working environment and economy. When “methods using fixed abrasive grains” are applied toward achieving a mirror finish, polishing is done using wheels to which fine abrasive grains are fixed. We consider resinoid bond to be the optimal bonding agent for affixing fine abrasive grains, because it enables more uniform dispersion of abrasive grains in comparison to other bonds.
Building upon these ideas, SHIN-EI GRINDING WHEELS MFG. CO., LTD. has developed and manufactured high speed roll grinding wheels for mirror polishing of copper and iron materials. Currently, we are striving to research and develop grinding wheels for mirror finishing of hard and brittle materials as P Series products.
